Emily Maynard has been in the spotlight for years, but she really caught the attention of the world when she shared her tragic story about her famous NASCAR driver fiancé Ricky Hendrick and his death in a deadly plane crash during her stint on season 15 of The Bachelor. On the Friday after the crash she learned that she was pregnant with her their daughter. In mid 2005 she gave birth to a healthy baby girl, named Josephine Riddick "Ricki" Hendrick. Following Ricki's birth Emily began to work on her career as a broadcast journalist via her NASCAR connections. She hosted a podcast for the Speed Channel called "Emily on The Scene" in 2006. Later she hosted a nationally televised series called "Three Wide Life". Today Emily is an event planner at Levine Children's Hospital in Charlotte, North Carolina, the hospital which also includes the Ricky Hendrick Centers for Intensive Care that was named after her late fiance' Ricky.
Now Emily Maynard has burst back onto the scene as the Bachelorette - the first Bachelorette who is also a single mom. This sweet, charming southern woman is a force to be reckoned with and the world is excited to watch along with her as she begins her quest for love!
