Miss World Beach Beauty

Miss World Beach Beauty is a swimsuit or fast track competition in the Miss World pageant. The Beach Beauty event first started in 2003, when the Miss World Organization decided to have preliminary or fast track events to automatically give a semifinal spot to some of the delegates. This event allowed the Miss World delegates (over 100) to have a chance of being in the semifinals.
The Beach Beauty event showcases different swimsuits designed by Miss World 1975, Wilnelia Merced. Since 2003, the winner of the event automatically makes it into the semifinals.
Each delegate competes in different swimsuits. The judges narrow the delegates from more than 100 to a Top 10 (2003), Top 20 (2004, 2009, 2010), Top 19 (2005), Top 21 (2007), or Top 25 (2006), (2008). Then in that list, they have a Top 3 (2003) Top 5 (2005, 2007), Top 12 (2009) or Top 10 (2004, 2006, 2008, 2010), and finally runners-up and the winner.
In 2009, the initial group of 112 contestants were cut into a field of 44, and from those, Top 20 finalists were chosen to participate in the final. Initially, it was going to be Top 10 finalists however the selection was so hard, the judges have made it the Top 12 finalists. Followed by 4 runners-up and the winner of Beach Beauty.
